Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Specifically, transcribers will undertake the following activities:
i. Undertaking transcription within the required turnaround time and review drafts for grammar, spelling, formatting errors and other inconsistencies as requested by court parties.
ii. Adhering to recommended transcription legal-based style guides and rules when completing transcripts.
iii. Adhering to the institutional policy regarding confidentiality, professionalism and respect for sensitive information.
iv. Ensuring transcription equipment and software is kept secure and well maintained.
v. Ensuring accurate interpretation of court proceedings audio/video recordings.
vi. Maintaining and improve typing skills and speed by completing regular typing tests.
vii. Participating in any other administrative duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Requirements
i. KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of C-
ii. Certificate in typing skills (Minimum typing speed of at least 30 WPM)
iii. Basic computer skills – proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point).
iv. Have a set of headphones.
v. From the region specified in the advert.
vi. Previous experience with an online transcription or engagement with Ajira (Ajira training certificate) will be an added advantage
