Public Service Extends Application for 8000 Internships
The Public Service Internship Program (PSIP) is a government youth empowerment program with the main objective of providing university graduates with the opportunity to gain practical experience and develop their skills to enhance their employment, networking and entrepreneurship opportunities.
The commission dates back to 1954, when the British colonial government established the Public Service Commission following the 1948 report of the Holmes Commission. The civil service acted as an advisor to the governor in appointment matters; At independence in 1963, it was enshrined in the constitution and renamed the Public Service Commission.
The Public Service Commission is pleased to announce that the application period for 8,000 Apprentices (Cohort 6) has been extended under the PSIP 2023/2024 from August 17, 2023 to August 23, 2023.
Requirements
To be assigned an internship, the applicant must be
- You have a bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized university
- Graduated in 2017 at the earliest; and
- Your computer skills
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Carrying out the tasks agreed upon and jointly given by the supervisors
- Document your acquired skills in your respective application areas and
- Active participation in all relevant mentoring activities and additional responsibilities planned by the program
Duration of internship
Twelve (12) months – non-extendable
Stipend
The intern is paid a stipend in the amount determined by the state
Certificate
Upon successful completion of the training program, a certificate is issued to the trainees.
