Distribution of 20,990 instructors by ethnicity: merely recently hired by TSC

According to a report given to a parliamentary committee, the bulk of the teachers hired by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) in January of this year are from the Kalenjin community.

According to the interim report, which TSC director Nancy Macharia gave to the Select Committee on National Cohesion and Equal Opportunity on Thursday, the commission hired 36,000 teachers altogether.

Macharia stated that out of the 36,000 new teachers hired, the commission has already completed the onboarding process for 20,990 of them.
